STAMP CLEARANCE SALE CONTINUES

Keeping this post at the top, please scroll down for other entries

*I've added more pictures of sets for sale*

Well I've been threatening it for a while now....I'm clearing out my stash and selling items that I'm unlikely to use before I die. It's all great stuff but with me having less crafting time than ever, I want the items to go to a good home where they'll be loved and exercised regularly.

If you click on the name of the set, you'll be taken to the Split Coast Stampers gallery for a photo of the images and many ideas for using the set. Many of the stamps will suit scrapbookers as well, so please spread the word so I can re-home these babies.

I'll be donating half of the total proceeds of sale to animal charities such as:

Stamps are available for local pickup (Hornsby area of Sydney, post code 2120) or I will post them by Australia Post, most likely in a 500g ($6) or 3kg ($10) red satchel (depending on your post code and weight of parcel).

Farewell My Fishy Friend

This is a monochromatic card I've made a few times, to illustrate water-colouring techniques. I have stamped the crab in Staz-On Jet Black Ink on Watercolour Paper and then used my Aqua Painter with Certainly Celery and Old Olive ink pads to colour the crab.

I'm certainly going to miss Fishy Friends. Ditto the versatile birthday set called It's Your Birthday. The patterned paper I've used in the card above, available in several colours, is also retiring and has been discounted by 25% so it's very tempting and affordable to buy, as are many other paper packs.

I might also mentioned that Stampin' Up! ink pads will be priced at $11.95 from the 1 April 2009, a $2 increase. The refills will be $5.95, a $1 increase. So if there are any you're considering buying, it may be worth deciding before the end of the month to beat the price rise.

One Lay-Out, Three Birthday Cards

(Eastern Blooms from Summer Mini Catalogue ends 31 March 2009)

A couple of weeks ago, I made birthday cards for my brother and sister-in-law. No matter that their birthdays had passed some time ago....I started with the floral card shown above. This is a variation on a basic theme that I made with Bud Basics last year:

(Bud Basics, now at 25% off, great value for $25.46)

On the Eastern Blooms card, I have used a trio of pink-red colours: Rose Red, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink. I've scalloped the edge with the SU! Scallop Edge Punch and placed a piece of Rose Red card underneath the scallops. I've stamped an extra flower on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, cut it out and placed Chunky Glitter with Tombow Glue in the flower centre. The "happy birthday" greeting is from Occasional Greetings and the wide grosgrain ribbon colour is Certainly Celery. To create the leaves, I've used the 5-Petal Flower Punch and scissors with Certainly Celery card stock. I then scored and folded the leaves to give them extra dimension, here's a close up:

For the Bud Basics card, I've used the soon-to-be-deleted colours of Purely Pomegranate and Groovy Guava teamed with one of the most useful colours in the range, Chocolate Chip. You'll notice that some of flower centres have "bling" on them? Leave me a comment suggesting how I did this and I'll put the names from all the correct comments in a dish and draw out one person to receive a packet of SU! 12 x 12 inch paper (valued at $11.95). Comments close at 6pm Friday 6 March 2009 (Eastern Standard Time in Australia). Please, entries from Australian residents only and, entries from other Stampin' Up! demonstrators are not eligible to win a prize.

I didn't think my brother would appreciate a floral card so I decided to adapt the same basic lay-out for a male and use stars instead:

(In The Stars from Summer Mini Catalogue ends 31 March 2009)

In the Stars stamp set has been stamped in Soft Sky and Blue Bayou ink (also retiring soon) and Blue Bayou ribbon added. There is a brad from the discounted Pewter HodgePodge Hardware (now only $39.71 such great value). The feature star has been stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, punched out with the co-ordinating Large Star Punch and popped up with a Dimensional.

Now it's time for me to update the availability list for the retiring items so better get on it.

Stampin' Up! Announces Retiring Items & Discounts Many of Them!

Well this is BIG news. And unprecedented. I've been with Stampin' Up! since it launched into Australia in 2006 and never has the annual retiring items list been so long. The reason for this is that Australia is finally catching up with the USA and from 1 April 2009, the two product ranges will be more closely aligned. Great news for those of us who long for the USA products that we can view on line.

I'm sad to see some of the items retire but what's very exciting is that Stampin' Up! has discounted selected retiring items by 25%. There are even two items that have been discounted by 50%. I expect these discounted items to disappear fast.

You can see the list of retiring items by page number HERE or alphabetically HERE. If you don't have a 2008 - 2009 catalogue to refer to, please let me know as I have plenty to share or you can view it online.

Please, if you want to order anything, don't delay. Phone on 0402 347 010 or email me to get it organised. I will update my website when stock of items become depleted.

I'll be back soon with an Artist Trading Card I recently made. Please stay tuned.

Grab these items while they last

A quick story about this card made by a friend for my son, Ashley, on the occasion of his 7th birthday. My friend's son, Ciaran, and Ashley decided they would like to become cousins ("Mum tell the government that we are now cousins" said Ashley). What Ashley hadn't considered was that making Ciaran his cousin, also made Ciaran's 3 year old sister, Lillian, his cousin. It took a bit of persuasion but an "alright" was finally reached. My friend was then wondering if Ashley realised that he had made her an Aunty (for the first time too). So she gave him this birthday card which in amongst the chaos of a birthday party, sailed right over his head. But I got the message, and after some explanation, Ashley now has a new Aunty.

The reason for including this cute punch art card on my blog is to highlight the stamp set, Wonderful Favourites, page 119 of the main Stampin' Up! catalogue. It currently retails for $39.95 but this price was an printing error in the current catalogue (which SU! decided to honour for the sales period of April 2008 to March 2009). From the 1 April 2009, it will be more like $77.95. So, if this set takes your fancy, please purchase it before the end of March 2009.

And on the subject of disappearing items, now is the time to stock up on all the In-Colour items before they disappear. I'm specifically referring to:

Purely Pomegranate
Blue Bayou
River Rock
Soft Sky
Groovy Guava
Wild Wasabi

Ink Pad ($9.95) & Re-inker ($4.95)
A4 card stock, single colour ($10.50)
A4 card stock, variety ($14.50)
12 x 12 card stock, variety ($17.25)
12 x 12 textured card stock, variety ($21.95)
Double-stitched ribbon, 13.7m ($16.95)

Back with more soon.

In-Colour Ink Pad Re-inker Reminder

I'm back to craft posts by way of this quick reminder that if you have purchased a Stampin' Up! ink pad from the current In-Colour range, consider buying the re-inker now.

The current In-Colour ink pads and re-inkers will not be on range after 30 March 2009. And stocks may be depleted in advance of this date. So, my best advice is, if you love one of these colours:

Purely Pomegranate (who doesn't like this colour?)
Blue Bayou
River Rock
Soft Sky
Wild Wasabi
Groovy Guava

then please buy the re-inker and you'll be able to use your pad forever. And puh-lease do it soon. At $4.95 (plus 5% P & H), there's really no excuse not to. Please email or phone me 0402 347 010 now.
